This is just one more story about a parent who is aghast about the stuff her teen has placed on Myspace.

I’ll tell you this: I give presentations to thousands of parents and teachers. Most, and I mean about 95%, have no idea about Myspace.com. They are shocked when I show them some samples on the site.

Oh yeah, I’ve heard some interesting stories from parents who have found their kids on Myspace.

Bill Gates Enters Revolution 3.0

Bill Gates has thrown down the gauntlet. Here’s an announcement of an online version of desktop applications. Get this: It will be advertising supported.

Ah, there’s nothing better than selling air. It has a cost of zero and an incredibly high return. Ask Google about the concept.

I “love” Bill Gates . . . Lead, follow, or get out of the way. Even though he’s never the innovative leader, somehow he manages to push the other guys out of the way.

Bill you might be a zillionaire, but you haven’t lost your spunk.

Revolution 3.0

“Times they are a-changin’.” While many people are talking about Web 2.0, I believe we are in the mist of a revolution. Thus the name — Revolution 3.0. Some people see it and most do not.

Web 2.0 features are just a piece of the pie. Everything is changing: advertising, traditional media, telephony and more. Just a few years ago, who would have thought the ringtone business would be a $3 billion business? While our kids still socialize at the mall and the movie theatre, they are socializing and spending hours a day at Myspace and Facebook. Instant messaging and text messaging functions are part of their existence.

Yes, “Times they are a-changin.” However, things are moving so rapidly — Revolution 3.0.

I think this quote says it all: “We believe the first 10 years of the Internet were a warm-up for what’s about to happen.” — Mary Meeker Internet Analyst Morgan Stanley

While I started 2005 proclaiming: “2005 will be the year of the blog”, I am moving on to proclaim that: “2006 will be the year of Revolution 3.0.” This blog will reflect that. So, come along for the ride.
