Revolution 3.0
“Times they are a-changin’.” While many people are talking about Web 2.0, I believe we are in the mist of a revolution. Thus the name — Revolution 3.0. Some people see it and most do not.
Web 2.0 features are just a piece of the pie. Everything is changing: advertising, traditional media, telephony and more. Just a few years ago, who would have thought the ringtone business would be a $3 billion business? While our kids still socialize at the mall and the movie theatre, they are socializing and spending hours a day at Myspace and Facebook. Instant messaging and text messaging functions are part of their existence.
Yes, “Times they are a-changin.” However, things are moving so rapidly — Revolution 3.0.
I think this quote says it all: “We believe the first 10 years of the Internet were a warm-up for what’s about to happen.” — Mary Meeker Internet Analyst Morgan Stanley
While I started 2005 proclaiming: “2005 will be the year of the blog”, I am moving on to proclaim that: “2006 will be the year of Revolution 3.0.” This blog will reflect that. So, come along for the ride.

Funny you mention that. I’ve gotten into the ringtone industry as music producer and it’s amazing how high the demand is. I guess it’s got a cult following from teenagers and wherever you can hook the teens is where the big traffic online is going to be.
