MySpace is Brilliant!

MySpace has created a record label. When I visited, I found an exclusive: Neil Diamond album — doesn’t seem like the demographics (13 - 34) of MySpace. However, the entire album is available — not the annoying 30-second clips.

Rupert Murdoch might be a senior, but he sure is tuned in to the revolution.

And it seems like everyone’s writing about MySpace. Today, the New York Times had an article about teens and Myspace.

The Wall Street Journal had an excellent article about AJAX technology. These are some of the applications that it highlighted.

If you’d like to see how a demonstration should be created online, check out Zimbra. I’ve used Writely’s word processor and it’s really cool.

I happen to be a Yahoo user — calendar, e-mail, and more — I’ll be a happy camper when Yahoo integrates AJAX into its product-line. Yo Yahoo, while you’re at it, you need to add it to my.yahoo.com.

AskJeeves has just updated its desktop search feature. And did you know that AskJeeves also has a tagging feature? It’s actually a very nice service.

One feature I’d like to see is tagging integrated with its Blogline service.

By the way, you might be surprised to learn about all the companies AskJeeves’ parent company owns.

Yahoo’s new mapping system has a nice click and drag feature and a few other features.

There is one major thing missing — satellite photos.

Uh, duh. Can you buy a phone without a camera?

The Boston Garden and Revolution 3.o

What in the world does the Boston Garden (where the Celtics and Bruins played) have to do with Revolution 3.0?

Well, I’m about to tell you. If you’re old enough to remember The Garden, you might miss when stadiums had non-corporate names. Well, here’s the scoop: Give it up. Times they are a-changin’. If you’re going to get along in the real world, you better move on. Nostalgia will not win in Revolution 3.0.

As for me, I live in Atlanta. Fortunately, our town (other than basketball) has not sold out. Our football stadium is the Georgia Dome. Our baseball stadium is named after — would you believe — a human being — a living one — Ted Turner.
