Write this down: It’s historic. As of tonight, NBC will air its evening newscast on the Net.

In the future, all TV will be available on the Net — IPTV. Last week, I was on the plane and the gentleman next to me was reviewing his Powerpoint slides about IPTV . . . He was from Cox Communications. The writing is on the wall.

You gotta be kidding: I guess I won’t be watching the the NBC News Netcast. You have to use Internet Explorer.

The dark side of the Internet: 20-year old Jeanson James Ancheta, who allegedly hijacked thousands of computers, was arrested after the FBI got him to their offices in Los Angeles.

It doesn’t take much to get inundated with viruses and spyware. My daughter’s computer had multiple viruses and a boat-load of spyware. I think the culprit was Instant Messaging.

Believe it or not, one of the markets that I give presentations to . . . Seniors! They love the Internet.

Guess what, they blog too.

Here are some of the blogs mentioned in the above USA Today article:

1. Oldest Living Blogger
2. My Mom’s Blog
3. The Ageless Project
4. Dog Walk Musings
5. Dads Tomato Garden Journal

And how ’bout this: Create a blog of your life. Something for your children, grandchildren and great-granchildren to read and cherish.

Do you like Google’s mapping service? Now you can pop it on your cellphone — maybe — it doesn’t support Verizon, Nextel, Palm, or Blackberry.

AAA — That’s my advice when online. This site states . . .

This website was developed to arm you with information so you don’t fall victim to these Internet scam artists. Education, good judgment, and a healthy dose of skepticism are the best defenses against becoming a victim. Remember, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is!

Newspapers — Bug Me

This AM, I went to the online version of my local paper. Oh, the questions they ask: Name, birthdate, zip code and more. In these revolutionary times, when content is so freely available, most newspapers require registration.

What’s the purpose? Make it harder to view content. Less eyeballs for your advertisers. Don’t want people to read your content. Newspapers, get a clue: Stop the silliness. Tear down the barriers to entry. Stop the registration process.

Of course, they won’t. So, use the Bug Me Not service for “easier” access.

Unbelievable: Every day Yahoo, Google, and even Microsoft have a major announcement. This one: Yahoo is gettin’ into the cellphone biz.

Oh, the next few years are going to be so exciting.
