Google $409.36 and Yahoo $42.27

Filed under: Revolution 3.0, Google, Yahoo

It looks like Google is headed to $450*. Unbelievable. By the way, over the past month, Yahoo gained 20%. If you’re keeping score, Google is up 32% over the same timeframe.

Bottomline: They’re both winners.

*On Monday, Ben Schachter, an analyst at UBS upped his 12-month price target on Google to $500 from $430. Schachter expects the search engine to earn $9.40 a share in 2006.

The Tiffany Theory

As we all head to the mall and get our gifts wrapped, remember what Michael Levine says:

The Tiffany Theory states that a gift delivered in a box from Tiffany’s will have a higher perceived value than one in no box or a plain box. That’s not because the recipient is a fool; it’s because in our society, we gift-wrap everything: our politicians, our corporate heads, our movie and TV stars, and even our toilet paper. Public Relations is like gift wrapping.

At long last, I got a domain for my revolution blog.

In addition to this blog, I have created a speech for Revolution 3.0. This presentation explains, in layman’s terms, what is happening with the Internet and other related technologies.

If you’d like to book me for a Revolution 3.0 speech or any of my other WOW (Wonders of the Web) presentations, send me an e-mail.

Google Whacking

My definintion of the popular term Google Whacking: When your business becomes trivialized by Google. Exhibit One: The newspaper industry.

On another note: Here’s one thing that bugs me about professional journalists/newspapers. Many journalists publish their e-mail address with their byline. In my unscientific tests; if you e-mail a journalist, they do not respond. How’s that for . . .

1. Goodwill
2. Understanding that the Internet is a communiation vehicle.

By the way, I give an A+ to Walt Mossberg of the Wall Street Journal. If you e-mail him, he will respond. Journalists, you can learn a lesson from Walt.

It ain’t no dinosaur. That’s what you get when you “marry” TiVo with the iPod. This is a cool development. No longer will you be chained to the TV to watch a program that you recorded.

I won’t be able to participate: I own (rent) a DVR. Maybe Cisco can change that!
