For All My Author Friends

You want to know what sells books:

1. A great cover
2. A great title
3. Oh yeah, great content

If you want an example: Check out the new PostSecret book.

By the way, that’s what I attribute to the success of my book series.

Technology Ain’t No Picnic

In the past week, I’ve had these problems:

1. Daughter’s PC was seriously infected — had to reinstall from scratch.
2. My Treo 650 stopped synching with PC — hey I coulda owned a Blackberry
3. Outgoing e-mail on Treo stopped working — had to re-input server information
4. Firefox’s latest version doesn’t work on my PC — had to revert to Internet Explorer (I miss my tabs)
5. My inexpensive Epson printer stopped printing — bought a HP printer/scanner/copier for 50 bucks!
6. And worst of all, my coffee grinder stopped grinding

I’m gettin’ the jitters!

One Click

That phrase is associated with Amazon, however, Google gets it and Yahoo does not. For example, if I want real-time stock quotes, Google gives them to me with one click, Yahoo takes a few. Frequently, when I check my Yahoo e-mail, I have to enter my password. With Google, rarely, do I have to enter a password.

I make my living by simplifying things for people: Yahoo; listen carefully: “*Simplify your services.” Google’s worth twice as much as you. I attribute much of it to its simplification techniques.

* Your MyWeb needs help and so does your 360Yahoo service. Do I have to come to a stockholder meeting and make a scene. Get with it!

Jon Stewart reminds me why I’m glad that I do not live in New Jersey any more. He captures the essence of the Garden State. As always, thank you Jon for your world view.

I apologize to all my relatives who still make NJ their home.
