I Hear There’s Gonna Be a Revolution

Who woulda thunk a few years ago that a site like Craigslist would threaten the New York Times? In this case, it’s all about classified ads. Here’s the interesting thing: Most people who use the Internet have never heard of Craigslist.

Sing it loud and clear Bob: “Times they are a-changin.”

Can you believe . . . The Wall Street Journal had an article about technology blogs and it didn’t mention Engadget or Gizmodo? Congratulations to the WSJ for not following the crowd. The above site is one that it mentioned.

Here’s what it’s all about: “Everyone has heard the buzz about blogs, but finding the best information is a real challenge without the right tools.

That’s where Blogniscient comes in. We categorize and rank blog articles and blogs in real time, providing up-to-date information on the hottest blog entries.”

We learn in the presence of other generations: The old need to teach the young and the young need to teach the old.

Sadly, rarely do either listen to the other.

Fact Check

Lately, there has been a lot of “stuff” floating around about trusting information from the Fifth Estate (you and me). Well, here’s something to think about. Whenever an article is written about me by the mainstream media, there are always factual errors. And the writer never (and I mean never) sends me a copy prior to the article appearing in print.

Here’s what made me think about that. I just received an e-mail from a volunteer who is writing an article for a local publication. He e-mailed the article to me for review. I found two errors and sent it back to him. Logically, it makes sense for the source(s) to review the information. Rarely, does the Fourth Estate do that — they are on deadline and they work in an ivory tower.

Just thought you’d want to know.
